Kindness Connections Professional Learning- Highlights
Kindness has always been at the heart of what Highlights does. The company knows that kids learn empathy by seeing it in action, so it weaves simple but powerful lessons about caring for others into everything it creates. Whether it’s a Hidden Picture that shows what friendship looks like, an activity that encourages helping or sharing, or a community project that spotlights everyday acts of goodness, Highlights reminds kids that kindness isn’t just a moment—it’s a way of living.
In this Professional Learning Session, we’ll explore:
- the science behind teaching kindness
- why starting early matters
- the ripple effects of promoting kindness in the larger community
- how learning kindness helps children build resilience
- ways to engage families and communities in making kindness a habit
We’ll discover how simple stories, creative activities, and relatable, concrete examples, help kids see how small acts—like including a new friend or helping at home—can make a big difference and how to encourage kids to notice kindness, talk about it, and practice it, and turn caring actions into lifelong habits that strengthen families and communities.
Date: Thursday, May 7th, 2026, Time: 4pm-5pm
Certificate will be issued, and upon successful completion of Professional Learning Session- center will receive a kindness kit for each VPK Classroom.
